“Life should be lived so vividly and so intensely that thoughts of another life, or of a longer life, are not necessary.” -- Marjory Stoneman Douglas
Drive west a little bit on PGA Boulevard. Just past Mirasol, at 8311 PGA Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens to be exact, you will find nature at her most pristine and enchanting - the stunning Loxahatchee Slough. Palm Beach County Environmental Resources Management provides programming, like the images shared from this kayaking adventure, all year long - from swamp tromps and plant bingo to sunset paddles...there is something for everyone!
If you visit on your own, there is a paved walking trail that leads from the parking lot to a wetland observation platform. The main entrance allows easy access to the Ocean-to-Lake Hiking Trail. A kiosk in the parking lot provides information about the plants and animals found in the natural area. Be sure to pick up a trail guide from the box attached to the kiosk.
